Finishing

Yesterday I started working on the binding for my Aliamanu Dreaming quilt--also known as "the 10,000 piece quilt." I made the binding, sewed it on and started stitching it down. I prefer to do the corners first, and then work on the sides. I had 2 corners done when I realized I forgot to sew on a casing, so luckily, I didn't have to rip anything out. I made the casing, added it, and resumed the stitching. It is a heavy quilt, so it was difficult to arrange while hand sewing. I finished it today and washed it, so it is finished.

I also did housekeeping, and then I went up to my craft room and finished the scrapbook pages I was working on, and then I put all that away. I'm helping a friend do some sewing tomorrow and then I have other quilting projects I want to work on. It is fun to work on projects, but I kind of like seeing the room cleaned up and tidy. It is like a blank canvas prepped for the next project.
