I woke up this morning and remembered my fabrics waiting downstairs and so I ran down to the laundry room to start the washing process. Two cycles of the washer later, they were ready for a quick dry and then press. Here are the results! Above, you can see some of the great texture that occurred. It has a great look that the camera just can't quite capture.
This above was the "experiment" and it is okay, but not sensational. I think it looks more like it was Rit dyed, but is still okay. You don't really see 2 distinct colors.
These fabrics were the 7 step gradation between two different colors of dye. I wanted a subtle gradation of red to orange and it really is sublte, but I'm pleased with the results.
This is the 6 step gradation of one dye going from dark to light. I mixed this color and thought it would be a lot more teal than it turned out, but I still love them. The class wasn't just good in that I learned a new skill. It also was playing with color and experimenting, and trying something new, and getting me out of a rut I didn't know I was in.
very nice... I love the red/oranges
